Expert Groups
All members of BKS | The European NPL Alliance can take part in our Expert Groups. This is where members shape positions, develop standards and produce the analysis that informs the European NPL debate.

Our Expert Groups
The following Expert Groups are currently active. Every member is welcome to contribute.
NPL Market Development
This Expert Group sets out the NPL market and its significance for the German and European banking system. The annual NPL Barometer is the product of this work.
Regulation
This Expert Group reviews and assesses draft legislation at national and European level, representing the NPL sector before the German government, the European Commission and the supervisory authorities.
Consumer Protection
Responsible treatment of debtors is a central priority for our members. This Expert Group develops and maintains the BKS Code of Conduct.
Data Protection
This Expert Group addresses the data-protection aspects of NPL sales. Its work includes a guideline and an expert opinion on the impact of the GDPR on the NPL industry.
Insolvency Law
This Expert Group reviews legislative procedures at EU and federal level and sets out the BKS position on these issues for policymakers and the public.
Model Contracts
The following models have been developed so far in the Model Contracts Expert Group:
- NPL purchase agreement for collateralised receivables
- NPL purchase agreement for unsecured receivables
- Credit service agreement
